D. Todd Sholar joined Brian L. Smith & Associates in August, 1998, later becoming a partner in the newly formed Smith.Sholar.Associates.PLLC. His practice focuses on real estate transactions and real estate brokerage law. Todd attended Belmont College (now Belmont University) in Nashville, Tennessee, where he received his B.B.A. degree in Management and Music Business.  Todd received his J.D. degree from Memphis State University (now University of Memphis). Prior to joining Brian L. Smith & Associates, he practiced with the Nashville law firm Farrar & Bates. During his tenure there, he worked with the Tennessee Association of Realtors advising Realtors regarding compliance with state licensing regulations.  Todd is a frequent lecturer in the areas of real estate law, real estate licensing requirements, and real estate agency law.  Todd has in the past served as guest lecturer for TAR at their annual convention and currently serves on the TAR Forms committee.  In 2012 he was recognized by TAR as the “Educator of the Year”. In his spare time, Todd enjoys playing music and spending time with family and friends.
