The Rob Report: November 2018
November 2018
Greetings WCAR Members!
Thanksgiving is just around the corner. It’s my favorite holiday of the year, as it gives us a chance to express the thanks we should be expressing daily for the blessings in our lives. From a real estate perspective, we have much to be thankful for at WCAR and in the Williamson County and surrounding area markets.
Our monthly sales statistics have been remarkably consistent over the two years I’ve been watching. There are the normal dips in activity after schools get going in the fall and during the holidays, but nothing dramatic. Prices continue to hold steady and indications are that the markets should stay strong for quite some time. I recently participated in an Economic Forecasting seminar put on by MarketGraphics that featured Dr. Lawrence Yun, NAR’s Chief Economist and an Economist from the Federal Reserve in Chicago. Both of these experts indicated continued strong real estate trends in our area, with the chance of a small correction a couple years down the road. It’s always reassuring to hear a non-biased opinion on what our market looks like from those “in the know.”
Apart from the real estate markets and all the good things happening with our association, I’m very grateful this year for having such dynamic leadership from the WCAR Board of Directors, under the direction of President Matt Daniel this past year. Matt has done a great job, along with the Executive Committee and the entire Board. He will soon turn over the reins to Kyle Shults, and Kyle and the 2019 Board of Directors will carry on the vision that our Leadership has for this association, which will benefit all 2,800 members of WCAR.
Thank you all for the opportunity to serve, and I look forward toward many more months and years with this incredibly fast growing, vibrant association of REALTORS®. We are all in this together, and we will do our best to make sure that those in our industry have the right tools, the right advocacy, the right educational opportunities and the right networking to insure prosperity in your careers.
Respectfully,
Rob Wigton
